the real thing...
Five of these were actually built (and all survive to this day), by Paul M. Lewis of the “Highway Aircraft Corporation of Sidney” in 1974.
In theory, these three wheeled streamliners were supposed to be powered by a highly unlikely electric motor and have a rubber body... The reality was actually an ordinary 4 cylinder (probably a Corvair engine).
Touted at the time as “Space Age Transportation Innovation”, they never caught on and ceased in 1976 after failing to achieve a projected production of 50 more units by the end of 1975.
